Fume Blanc is the name given to wine made of Sauvignon Blanc, which has had some oak maturation. It is a wine style that adds more body and complexity than a typical Sauvignon Blanc.
The Sauvignon Blanc fruit was picked with the ideal combination of intense tropical fruit flavours and an ideal natural acidity. Fermentation took place in Stainless steel, before it was transferred to new French Oak for a period of 3 months. Maturation in Oak barrels further intensifies the aromatics and allows the development of a finely balanced wine with impeccable structure and finesse.
The wine displays a crisp straw colour with a fine green hue and exhibits bright aromas of white peach with a complexing herbal spice and delicate oak notes. It is well balanced with a luscious front palate that extends into a mouth-filling grapefruit acid, this wine lingers with a clean finish. With passionfruit flavours that softly dissipate into the melon and honeydew, this wine is a true representation of the fumé style.
