Grape Variety: 100% Chardonnay
Vineyard Region: 85% Canowindra, NSW (Central Ranges) / 15% Hunter Valley NSW
Vineyard Altitude: 350 Metres
Oak Maturation: Partial barrel fermented and matured in new, one, two and three year old French oak hogsheads for 12 months.
Components of this blend received extended maturation on yeast lees and malolactic fermentation prior to final blending.
The wine is medium golden green in colour. The bouquet shows nutty barrel fermentation complexity with melon and ripe fig varietal fruit overtones. It is a rich, medium bodied wine on the palate, showing fresh fruit flavours with great length of flavour enhanced by French oak complexity, soft vanilla and a crisp acidity on the finish.
Stored under proper conditions this wine will continue to develop and gain complexity for the next 4 – 5 years.
An ideal accompaniment with cooked seafood, especially mussels, turkey breast and pork.
